Photographs are lies. Life isn’t meant to be perceived in 1/60 second increments. It moves and shifts; it is filled with fleeting moments that when taken out of context take on a meaning all their own. They are tiny fictions that the mind spins out into something far greater than the image itself. A good photo is like a grifter; weaving the tiniest bit of truth into the story so the viewer can lie to him or her self in good conscience. I hover around conversations with the camera hanging low silently snapping away, stealing these moments to be pinned up on a wall. Remember, they’re all lies.
